D1 Training for a Purpose was launched in the Summer of 2010. The mission of program is to positively impact the community in which we live, work and train. Built to serve the community and build camaraderie among D1’s adult athletes, the goal is action and teamwork.

Charity Background: D1 Nashville is once again putting a team together for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®. Be apart of our team and join the 20,000 runners/walkers projected to participate in this year's event.  We will be raising money and awareness a for a great cause that with continued support, will hopefully become cureable for our future generations.

Training for a Purpose Objective:  In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, D1 Nashville  will be raising money for Susan G. Komen For A Cure.  Help us reach our goal of $2,500  and participate in this years Race for the Cure®. 100% of all profits from the sales of the D1 Think Pink T-Shirts will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.   We will also be accepting online donations via the Team D1 Nashville race page. We appreciate any and all generosity our members and fans are still willing to give.

Country Music Marathon
& 1/2 Marathon Presented by Nissan®

Charity Background: Although not a charity itself, the Country Music Marathon and Half Marathon is a far reaching community event that brings 30,000+ runners to Nashville, many of whom run for charities of their own.

Training for a Purpose Objective: We will need D1 staff, members, family and friends to help us staff a water station at the marathon on Sat., April 30. We will be hydrating, energizing and motivating the huge crowd of the 30,000+ marathoners during the race. Voulunteers MUST be 14 years or older.
