Early on, Will also recognizes what would become another important advantage over most competitors—rehabilitative sports therapy. In the early stages of D1’s existence, Will continues to receive physical therapy after suffering a careerending knee injury in training camp with the Denver Broncos. Will encounters the inconvenience of getting sports training in one place and therapy in another. At the University of Tennessee and in the pros, these services are available to athletes in the same facility. He wonders how many other athletes were inconvenienced in the same way.
From this, D1 Sports Therapy is born. Offering this combination of sports training and physical therapy together in the same facility, makes D1 unique to most competitors within the industry. Having everything located under one roof also allows valuable collaboration between an athlete’s coaches and therapists. D1 continues to follow a facility business plan that calls for a rehabilitative sports therapy clinic in each of its facilities.
