Will Bartholomew
President & CEO E-MAIL
Will Bartholomew founded D1 in 2002 and serves as President and CEO. Will provides the vision and direction of D1 and oversees all business matters, sales efforts and personnel.
He brings a strong leadership background from his time at the University of Tennessee, where he served as Captain of the football team in 2001 and was a member of the 1998 National Championship team.
Driven by his passion for athletics, Will took his vision of bringing the Division I training advantages to athletes of all ages and formed D1. Will holds a BS in Finance from the University of Tennessee.

Dan Murphy
Vice President, CFO & COO E-MAIL
Dan Murphy serves as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer and has been with D1 since 2006.
Prior to D1, Dan served as Executive Director of Business Development – where he was responsible for several joint ventures between hospitals and private laboratories – for a startup company that was sold to Laboratory Corporation of America. His previous experience includes strategic development, capital raising and portfolio management.
Dan holds a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point – where he was Captain of the 1996 USMA West Point soccer team – and a MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University.

Kurt Hester
Kurt Hester, known nationally for his energetic approach to training top-tier athletes, comes to D1 after running HS2 Athletic Performance in New Orleans for the past nine years. Hester serves as D1's Director of Training,
Kurt is D1's primary authority on sports training and is responsible for instilling the D1 training philosophy and making sure all D1 coaches properly implement and teach training programs and techniques. As with everyone at D1, Kurt shares the responsibility of ensuring D1 maintains an intense, enthusiastic and exciting environment. In addition, Kurt oversees D1's NFL Combine Training Program in Nashville, which has trained such athletes as Bobby Capenter, Brodie Croyle, DeAngelo Williams and Marcus McNeil.
While Mr. Hester ran and owned HS2, he turned out more than 400 collegiate scholarship athletes and trained more than 50 NFL draft picks, including Alan Faneca, Anthony McFarland, Josh McCown, Ben Hartsock and Luis Castillo. He also trained numerous MLB draft picks, high school All-Americans, state championship teams and collegiate National Track & Field finalists.
Prior to HS2, Mr. Hester was a strength & speed coach at LSU, Tulane and Southeastern Louisiana University. While at LSU, he trained two Natioal Champion baseball teams under head coach Skip Bertman. The 1997 team set the national homerun record, which still stands today. In football, Hester trained three nationally ranked teams under LSU head coach, Gerry Dinardo.I In addition, Mr. Hester is still an active strength and speed consultant at Florida State, Tennessee, Illinois, Ole Miss, Alabama, Nichols State, Grambling State and the Unviersity of Miami.
Mr. Hester, a gradutate of Tulane Unviersity, was inducted into the Strength Coach Hall of Fame and holds various certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting and the Speed, Agility and Conditioning Association. Hester learned under USA Weightlifting coach, Gayle Hatch and speed coach, Tom Shaw.

Adam Kerley
Adam Kerley is D1’s primary authority on sports therapy and rehabilitation. In this capacity, he is responsible for the overall management of D1 Sports Therapy, including managing the therapy staff, developing all D1 Sports Therapy programs, and ensuring that all programs and techniques are correctly implemented and followed at all D1 facilities.
In addition, Adam is responsible for ensuring all D1 Sports Therapy clinics maintain an intense, enthusiastic and exciting environment. He also serves as a physical therapist at D1 Knoxville. Prior to D1, Adam held positions as a physical therapist and practiced Sport Medicine services in various environments, including health systems, collegiate athletic training programs, and advanced sports training services.
Adam holds a BA in Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University and in addition to being a licensed physical therapist, is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Adam has published physical therapy related articles and been a speaker at multiple physical therapy and sports medicine seminars. Adam played baseball at Roane County Community College.

Ron Rickel
Ron Rickel has more than nine years of marketing and event management experience. He has has served as D1's Director of Marketing since 2006. In this capacity, he oversees marketing at all facilities and is responsible for facilitating strategic marketing partnerships.
Prior to joining D1, Ron worked with the Nashville Sports Council and Music City Bowl, Inc. as the Director of Events & Programs. He bring specific experience with the marketing, planning, logistics, operations, and volunteer prospecting associated with multiple city-wide and regional events. Additionally, he played a role in the establishment of the inaugural Country Music Marathon and ½ Marathon, which has become an annual event in Nashville involving more than 25,000 participants. While with the Nashville Sports Council and Music City Bowl, Inc., Ron was a key member of the team that delivered $242 million worth of economic impact to the Nashville area.
Ron holds a BS in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing, from Mississippi State University.

Daniel Davidson
Director of Sales & Corporate Wellness E-MAIL
Daniel Davidson joined D1 in 2007 as the Director of Wellness Resources and is responsible for the development and execution of corporate wellness opportunities across the country.
In this role, Daniel identifies potential corporate clients that could benefit from the establishment of an in-house fitness solution in an effort to drive down healthcare costs. His previous work experience involves the development of sales and marketing strategies across several markets. Prior to joining the Company, Daniel worked with Lifestyle Magazine, where he was responsible for the launch of the magazine in Middle Tennessee, as well as Google and Yahoo, where he was recognized as a leader in sales and revenue generation.
Daniel holds a BA in Communications from Wake Forest University. While at Wake Forest, he was an All-American Pitcher on its nationally ranked baseball team from 2002-2005, and played semi-professional baseball in the New England area for three seasons.

Matt Toy
Public Relations Manager E-MAIL
Matt Toy has more than nine years of public relations and marketing experience and has worked with D1 PR since late 2006. As PR manager, he oversees media relations and community relations for all of D1’s locations and assists in facilitating strategic marketing partnerships. Prior to joining D1, Matt worked in high school, college and pro sports.
Matt came to D1 from Alday Communications, a PR firm which handled the D1 Sports PR account. At Alday, Matt was the PR liaison for D1 and also GetFitTN, which was Tennessee’s statewide health and fitness program run by Governor Phil Bredesen, Tennessee Commissioner of Health Susan Cooper and spokesman Eddie George. Before Alday, Matt worked in PR and publications for the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Kats, Third Coast Sports and also Miami (OH) University’s athletic department. Matt was also a high school athletic director in Cincinnati before moving to Nashville.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Organization with a minor in coaching from Miami (OH) University and a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Belmont University. Matt is currently an adjunct professor for Belmont’s Sports Administration master’s program.
