D1 Little Rock
D1 Little Rock is scheduled to open Summer '08. The 20,000+ square ft. facility, which is co-owned by Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor, is located in northwest of downtown on Cantrell Road. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Facility Coordinator  Responsible for the management of facility day-to-day operations, financial performance and growth of the business. Also acts as the liaison for D1, maintaining relationships with clients, parents, schools, club sports and community leaders. As with everyone at D1, the facility coordinator shares the responsibility of ensuring D1 maintains an intense, enthusiastic and exciting environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or similar field
 
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum one year executive-level management experience; preferably in a sports   
  management setting
- Basic understanding of Financial Accounting
- General experience in a gym or facility management
- Familiarity with training athletes, their environments and their needs
- Computer literate; knowledge of word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and 
  financial application software (MAS 90)
- Comfortable using email (MS Outlook) and interacting with Internet applications
- Experience communicating with customers, employees and coaches
 
Additional Characteristics:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively with clients, coaches,   
  athletes and celebrities
- Organizational coordination skills
- Ability to communicate effectively among multiple organizational levels
- Knowledge of the business structure and all services
- Experience supporting executive activities, events and communications

Responsibilities:
- Overall operations, efficiency and financial performance of the facility
- Hiring, managing and evaluating facility staff
- Supervises operations manager, head strength & speed coach, clinic manager/physical 
  therapist
- Community outreach (visiting local events, games, chamber, etc.)
- HR functions (evaluating, scheduling, part-time labor, benefits, etc.)
- All financial aspects of the facility (control expenses, prices, sponsorships, etc.)

Head Strength & Speed Coach  - The facility’s primary authority on strength and speed coaching and assists in managing the facility’s coaching staff. In addition to his coaching duties, our head strength & speed coach is responsible for instilling the D1 training philosophy and making sure all D1 coaches properly implement and teach training programs and techniques. As with everyone at D1, our head and strength coach shares the responsibility of ensuring D1 maintains an intense, enthusiastic and exciting environment.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science from an accrediated university 
                       (Master or Doctoral degree preferred)

Qualifications and Experience:

- Possess a Certified Strength and Conditioning certificate from the  National Strength and Conditioning Association 
- 3-5 years strength coach experience in a NCAA Division I athletic program

Clinic Manager / Head Physical Therapist - Responsible for managing sports therapy clinic and evaluating and treating injured athletes and non-athletes. Our physical therapist will form a treatment plan and set up goals with the patient in order to return the athlete back to his/her prior level of function. Also assesses those who may be experiencing an injury and can refer them to a doctor for further evaluation. Our clinic manager/ head physical therapist also works closely with D1’s trainers and coaches to assist the athletes in returning to their sport and staying injury-free.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university 
                       (Master or Doctoral degree preferred)

 
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Must have current physical Arkansas therapy license
- 3-5 years experience preferred for Head Physical Therapist in Sports Medicine setting
- Possess or be in-the-process of earning a Certified Strength and Conditioning certificate from the National Strength and Conditioning Association  AND/OR-
-Possess or be in-the-process of earning designation as Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine
